INTIMATIONS for Sunday 16th November 2008

TEA AND COFFEE SERVED IN THE LARGE HALL AFTER THE MORNING AND EVENING SERVICE

New Members Class If anyone is interested in becoming a communicant member of St. Paul’s Mr Buchanan will be holding meetings from Monday 24th of November at 7pm in the Manse.  Sign up sheets are available at the back of the church.

 

The Guild On Monday 17th November we are having a talk on Jane Austen by Patricia Bascom.

 

Men's Association A reminder to all members of the Men's Association who are going to the launch of HMS Dragon on Monday 17th in Govan, that we will meet at Milngavie railway station at 12:15.   If you have said you are going but now find you are unable to go, please phone Chris Scott (0141 956 5251) or Ian Ferguson (0141 956 3963).

The next meeting will be on Tuesday night when our speaker is Roy Burdon. His talk is "Art meets Science - Science meets Art".  All men are welcome to come along.

 

St Paul’s Holiday Fellowship Prague to Berlin Cruise Photos from the successful trip are on display on the board in the Large Hall today.

 

EMMS Cycle Ride There are a few photographs, of Mr Buchanan’s intrepid ride across the Negev, in the Large Hall today.

 

Kimo Peru Calendar:  This is now available in the Large Hall at a cost of £6.00.  It includes pictures of existing Homes run by Scripture Union for abandoned street boys, and also information about the Home which we are funding in the Andes.   Spread the word about this Project by buying the calendar for your friends far and near for Christmas!

 

Special Day at Balmore Coach House

Tuesday 18th November - In aid of Saidiana Kenyan women's self-help group, 10.30 - 5.00pm come for coffee, Christmas cards great selection. Homemade soup, gifts from all around the world, etc! If you need a lift, phone 956 1967 before the 18th please. Saidiana is run by Fridah Wafula, a minister's wife who came to Iona and got inspiration to start this. If you would like to know more, ask Joan Miller ( 956 1967.

 

Kimo Peru Project – Christmas Tree Festival Our Festival will take place in the Church from Wednesday December 3rd – Tuesday December 9th from 10.00a.m. – 4.00p.m. each day except Sunday when it will be from 1.00p.m. – 4.00p.m.  Volunteers are needed to help with stewarding and serving teas and coffees, also with providing baking.   If you can help, either from 10.00a.m. – 1.00p.m. or from 1.00p.m. – 4.00p.m., please sign one of the forms at the back of the church.  Thank you!

Friendship House, Park Road, is open every day for Tea, coffee, light refreshments, including home baking, & chat.  A wide selection of greetings cards is also available.   A short service is held in the upstairs room at 11.00 each day, conducted on a Thursday by one of
our local ministers.

 

The Traidcraft stall is available after the morning service in the Large Hall

 

Sun Kids and Jump

This is for young people from Primary 1 to 7 and Secondary 1 will take place on Saturday 22 November 2008 in the church halls from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm. The theme is “Watch Out For…” and will include games, songs, Bible stories and food. Please come along and bring a friend – please remember to bring £1.00 to cover costs.

 

Project X

A meeting of Project X will be on Saturday 22 November at 4pm in the Jubilee Hall.  All Secondary School Age students are welcome.
